IMPORTANT: All the data you provide must be completely correct and accurate, and filled out in Latin characters (in English).
You need to submit your tax information in your AdSense account (go to "Payments" -> "Payments info").
Getting Started: Selecting Your Account Type First, you need to select the appropriate options:
Select the "Individual" option if you are a channel creator and not a registered company. Even if you are registered as an individual entrepreneur, you are still considered an individual.
Next, select "NOT a US resident" and the W-8BEN tax form.
After that, click "Start W-8BEN form".
Step 1. First point of the form Here, indicate your Last Name, First Name, and Patronymic, and select your country from the drop-down list. You must provide a Foreign Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) if there is a double taxation avoidance agreement in your country of residence. Details can be seen in the system tooltips, which are displayed in the user interface language. Check that all data is correct and that you have not made any mistakes or typos, then click "Next".
Step 2. Second point of the form In this section, you need to specify your registered address. If your registered address and official place of residence are different, this should be indicated additionally. The data must be entered in full: city, street, building number, apartment number.
Ensure everything is correct and click "Next".
Step 3. Third point of the form In this section, you need to indicate whether the channel should be subject to additional tax. If you reside in a country that has a double taxation avoidance agreement (such as Ukraine and Russia; other countries are listed in the tooltip), you must answer "Yes" to the question about the reduced tax rate. Check the box stating that you are a resident of a country with a corresponding treaty with the US, and select the country from the drop-down list. Next, select the necessary article and paragraph for AdSense, Motion picture and TV royalties, and Other copyright royalties, and choose the lowest tax rate along with the additional items. Choose the minimum rate where possible — 0%. In some countries, 10% or higher may be indicated in the last two items.
Check that all data is correct and click "Next".
Step 4. Fourth point of the form In this section, verify that the data is correct and check the box to confirm this. We recommend clicking on the W-8BEN form on the right and carefully double-checking it to ensure all details are accurate.
Once done, click "Next".
Step 5. Fifth point of the form You are required to verify the accuracy of the entered data once again. You must confirm with an electronic signature that you were the one who filled out the form.
After completing this, click "Next".
Step 6. Sixth point of the form Here, indicate whether you conducted activities for Google within the US. Since most creators do not live in the US and are not residents, select "No" and confirm the point again. Below, select the status for your account:
For new accounts: select the option indicating that data is being provided for a new account.
For existing accounts: select the option for an old account, even if you have not received payments to it. In this case, you must check an additional box confirming the data is real, and in the comment section below, provide information about any changes (change of name, surname, registered address) that may have occurred from January 1, 2020, to the present day.
Click the "Submit" button.
You will then see a notification regarding whether the form is approved. If the data was entered correctly and the right tax form was selected, the form should be accepted immediately, and you will see the "Approved" status.
Done! Check that all sections show a 0% status where possible.
