Trends Tracker and analysis management

Systematic monitoring of selected niches

The Trends Tracker section is a tool for systematic competitor tracking and finding viral formats. As we mentioned in the article 🔗 Getting Started with Yoola Stats, you can launch an automatic channel selection right from the main screen. In this article, we will discuss how to manage databases and correctly read trending metrics.

1. Creating and configuring a channel database

Editing an automatic database

If you created a collection from the home page (via keyword search), the system automatically selected relevant channels for you. If irrelevant creators got into the database, you can always go to the collection settings (the "Manage channels" button) and exclude them from the list, leaving only the necessary ones.

Creating a database manually

For maximum accuracy, we recommend adding channels manually:

1. Go to the Trends Tracker and click "Create my first collection" or "Create collection" if you already have previously created collections.

2. Enter a name (e.g., "Tech reviews") and click Save.

3. In an empty collection, use the feature to add a channel via a direct link. Just copy the URL of the required YouTube channel and add it to the list.

2. How to read and filter trends

Once channels are added, algorithms will collect their latest videos. The main value of this section is the ability to find anomalously successful videos.

Navigating between collections

If you have multiple databases (e.g., one for gaming, another for vlogs), you can easily switch between them at the top of the interface to monitor different topics in parallel.

Metrics: What is an Outlier Score?

On each video card in the feed, you will see bright badges with multipliers (e.g., 1.9x, 2.2x). This is the Outlier Score metric. It shows how many times more successful this video is compared to the average performance of this specific channel. If a video has a 2.0x, it means it gained twice as many views or engagement as this creator usually gets. Look for high Outlier Scores — it is a signal of an emerging trend.

Sorting and filters

Above the video list is the feed control panel. You can filter the results:

  • By time: over the last 30 or 90 days (Last 30/90 days).

  • By format: long videos (Long) or Shorts.

  • All filters: more fine-tuned filtering.

Managing videos: Favorites and Hidden

Each video card has quick action icons:

  • Star icon: adds the video to the Favorites tab so you don't lose an interesting idea for a script.

  • Crossed-out eye icon: hides an irrelevant video (sends it to Hidden) so it doesn't clutter your feed.

3. Batch video analysis from the Tracker

Found several videos with a high Outlier Score? Select them by clicking (up to 5 items with a total duration of up to 2 hours) and click the purple "Analyze videos" button.

The system will redirect you to the report generation page. Confirm the action by clicking "Start Analysis". Additionally, you can add individual videos via link or from created collections.
